How does FM EQUUS Coaching™ work?
Horses are gentle, curious herd animals that instinctually seek connection with other animals and, under the right circumstances, with people. Because of how they operate in a herd, horses pick up any changes in our emotional states much faster than any individual would ever do.
If during a coaching session there is disconnect between our language and our bodies, if our anxieties, wants or needs start to take over, if stories and patterns from the past begin to interfere with our present, or if any fear and uncertainty about the future reflect back on the now, the horses will feel it and they will react to it. Horses don’t know how to deceive. It's not in their nature to pretend to be what they are not.
This unique insight allows the coach to better support the client in the process of uncovering what has been hiding beneath the surface, often for a very long time.
Bridging between the intention of what the clients are trying to communicate and the feedback that they receive, the horses allow us to appreciate the impact of thoughts, emotions and actions. As a result, FM EQUUS Coaching™ can unlock and develop a sense of empathy, a recognition that how we show up in the world has an impact on others, whether we are fully aware of it or not.
